From January 2015, A New Carbon Tax is to be extended to households, this will entail the metering of chimneys with a box and band system and remote handset to monitor the amount of annual fossil fuels i.e coal along with oil, wood, or carbon omissions from the house. An average charge of €190 is envisaged.
